It's not a big issue (well, not an issue at all) but interesting never the less.
Looking at traffic sources for visits to this blog yesterday puts Google Reader above News.YC as the main traffic source. Normally i get 10-15 visits on every blog post from Google reader, but yesterdat that figure was in the hundreds!
So, essentially, the traffic was sourced via News.YC - just via it's RSS feed, showing Google Reader as the "source".
I just find that interesting because of the recent fuss over the Digg bar stealing (or rather hiding) referal statistics. Google reader does much the same thing (admittedly by the readers choice) and i can imagine those people who run ads on their blogs and spend a long time submitting posts to various sources getting frustrated working out where the best traffic sources are.
Ignoring organic google searches (depressingly mostly looking for the Facebook security flaw post...) most of my traffic comes from 10-20 sources, wich is easy to manage (especially as, for the most part, different blog topics have different sources with little overlap). I feel sorry for the commercial bloggers who have to untangle the mess of refferals and sources :(
